The door opens easily by pulling the large door handle. It closes
with a surprisingly hollow clunk and is lighter than you might
anticipate for a vehicle of this type. You can't just walk into the
Scorpio. Instead, you have to practically get inside this SUV! A
sea of grey covers the cabin. The interior's bright, airy feeling
is enhanced by the light grey and black colour scheme, which
has a global appeal. On the door pads and dash, Mahindra has
added silver accents.
The dashboard barely extends into the interior and is placed
near to the windscreen. The aesthetic is neutral and
appropriately modern. There are no soft touch materials in
this, and the part quality is poor. Although the interiors are
made to withstand abuse, if refinement is what you're want,
look elsewhere.
The 2.2L, mHawk, 4-cylinder 4V CRDi tech engine powers the
powerful Mahindra SUV. The 2179cc diesel engine's maximum
power output is 138.13 bhp at 3750 rpm, while its maximum
torque output is 320 Nm at 1500–2800 rpm. The Scorpio's
sophisticated diesel engine is paired with a 6-speed manual
transmission.
Mahindra has modified the multi-link coil spring suspension
and added an anti-roll bar to the Scorpio to enhance its
handling. Driving is a complete breeze within the city. Things
are made simple by the high driving position, responsive
engine, and the fact that every other car seems to make room
for you. Straight line stability is acceptable on the open road.
On the expressway, travelling at 120 kph doesn't feel uneasy.
