It's the most powerful 2.0-litre turbo engine ever mounted to a production car, with 421PS and 500 Nm, and one of the most power-dense engines currently on the market, with 211PS specific output. However, these figures do not reflect the motor's strongest feature, which is how well it adapts to whatever situation you might find yourself in with the A 45 S. While the fact that the engine is handcrafted in the same way as the large AMG V8 and comes with an endless number of ingenious upgrades may make the whole thing seem frightening at first, this is far from the case. The hot hatch's great genius is that it never makes you feel shaky in any way, even though it's probably too fast for any given stretch of your favourite driving route.
